Helen Rita Foster passed away on November 4, 2016. Mrs. Foster was born on October 9, 1930 in Roanoke, Louisiana to Charles Wilford Kibodeaux and Zula 'Fanny' Beard Kibodeaux. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Charles Wilford Jr and Wilton Ray Kibodeaux and is survived by her sister Shirley Roy.
Helen grew up enjoying dancing to Cajun music and bowling. Over the years she found ways to stay active in the community. She was a member of the VFW Post 2130 Ladies Auxiliary. She worked as an aid on a special education bus for Calcasieu Parish school district for many years. Helen always had an open door; she enjoyed friends and family stopping by to visit and share a cup of coffee. She was an active member of Bellview Baptist Church in Westlake.
She married JW Foster April 15, 1947; they recently celebrated 69 years of wedded bliss. She and Dub were long time Westlake residents. She was a proud mother to Diana Foster(Scott) Hargroder and Robert(Debi) Foster, loving MawMaw to Allison, Amanda, Angela and Megan. She was thrilled to call herself great grandmother to Chase, Caitlyn, Hannah, Angel, Emily, Lacy and Emma and great great grandmother to Caspen.
The family would like to give special thanks to Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care. Will Murillo and Gloria Miller became a part of our family and took care of Helen as if she was a part of theirs. Funeral services will be held at Hixson's Funeral Home in Westlake on Tuesday, November 8. Visitation to start at 9am with services at 11am. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Lake Charles. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you donate to the charity of your choice in Helen's name.
